i know how it feels
when i see you smile (:

No matter how long we exist,
we have our memories.
Points in time which time itself cannot erase
Suffering may distort my backward glances
but even to suffering,
some memories will yield nothing of her beauty or their splendor.
Rather they remain as hard as gems.

Woohoo! Council camp is finally over! RAWR!

Time really flies. It is our last ad hoc already...

almost too fast...

just thinking of it, one year ago, around this time, I was just a nominee, getting shouted at, and now...

Shouting at nominees...

Council camp started quite well because of the large packet of chicken rice that I got to eat for dinner!

Anyways, this time the protocol was quite useful for telling me where I was supposed to go...

but unluckily, I always read it in the last minute...

The first activity that we had to do was bunk inspection...

totally brings back the good old days, where we had to standardise everything properly...

of course, the scoldings by almost everyone...

Anyways, after which was games, and my station was 'Fill me up".

In this station, it was the same as that of last year except for the fact that this time the water is to be trasferred into two 1.5 litres water bottle held by a person in half squat position...

Anyways, it was quite heartening to see that the nominees started showing care and concern to one another after being prompted...

And this time I managed to use the element of promise, to make them promise me that if they ever over or under-estimate themselves, they will accept any punishments i give to them (in which they include running around the track, cutting of breaks etc, but none was that extreme...)

After the games was the first facilitation session...

I totally spoilt the mood at that point of time because I had to introduce myself to them proper, to make facilitation fun...

but I think that I should have made the session less relaxing (cos it was too slack already...)

but judging from my own personality and character, errrrr... cannot be done...

So Tammy and i kinda explained to them what the games were all about and got them to share what they feel the purpose of the games were...

So yups, anyways, after that was the nominees sleeping time followed by night walk...

(I really missed the time when we were suddenly woken up to go for nightwalk)

It was quite nice to get feedbacks that it was quite scary, not that I am sadistic, but it brought out the effect that we've wanted to achive through all our hard work...

There are some certain funny things that happened during that time but yups, I don't think it is really that nice to talk about the funny things that happened to some people...

So anyways, I was supposed to be stationed in the hall to ask the nominees to count money...

and i kinda got scolded by Ely for being too nice...

Maybe you all should see the contrast on our tones...

When nominees come...

"Here is a packet of papers with money values printed on it, can see? Yups, so for this task, you will need to go to a place without many other people around you to count the money. Once you are done, you can report back to me. While doing this task, do not talk to anyone or look around. Just count." - ME -

"Count the money, find one place to sit away from others, don't talk, don't look around." - Ely -

When nominees count money wrongly...

"Don't worry, It's okay, almost almost. Jia you!" - Me -

"Wrong, recount." - Ely -

So I was not sure if I was too nice to them or ely is just too evil...

Hahaz! =)

So anyways, after night walk, I did not get to follow my group again for the intermediate cos it was time for me to take my rest...

(And lit room is freaking cold, but comfortable with all the cushions...)

Then very soon, it was the next day, and Tammy kinda told me about what happened during the intermediate and I couldn't absorb anything, just know that our group was the only group that completed the lego thingy and failed the rest together with the nominee groups...

So Tammy had to do most of the facilitation and I just tell them the experiences in council through what she's said...

Yups, so after that was the hike...

and it was quite nice to see that the relaxig mood that Clarence, Yue An and I have set from the start made the nominees start talking to one another, but I kinda regretted that it brought about complacency...

but clarence was damn zai I tell you, he was like so freaking good at controlling the nominees...

and sadly...

the groups that we were taking we like walking the wrong path... and reached there last, and they were like SUPER confident on the route that the took (a super long one that ended at the same place as the shorter one...)

But nearing to the end, Clarence and I decided to walk super fast and we kinda were able to rush all the way in front of the nominees to make them walk faster (or else there will be severe overrun...)

So anyways, all of us met April and Stevenn who brought us in...

and we had 'the blind, the mute and the fine activity', and it did bring out some people to start talking, and we were quite happy about that...

And after which, we did the 3-legged walk...

Yue An and I totally owned them lor...

overtook them twice after waiting for them to walk past us...

I guess that is what happens when you strategise and follow the 'leader and follwer' theory...

So anyways, after the hike we went back to school and I finally got to take a rest. I wanted to wake up in half and hour but couldn't feel my body at that point of time and just continued resting, until it was time to demonstrate chain pumping (seriously, that was too easy...)

Then it was campfire setting up time...

and that was the most crap thing...

cos we fought for the time extension with yue an that by 7pm if it stops raining then we will continue with dry-weather set-up, and we thought we were quite blessed cos at around 6pm, the rain stopped and we moved everything down and it was super duper tiring!

But it was like WTH when rain came back at 7pm...

and we totally had to proceed with the wet weather plan...

luckily we spent the nice long hours making the fake campfire...

And the beautiful rainbow totally made us have no regrets. It was so big that I cannot even capture it with my handphone. Shall upload it soon...

Hahaz! =)

But after that was facilitation time before inspection drill...

All of us facils were like super disappointed because our groups could work well as one group, but not as a nominee group, and they were supposed to be quite good already before inspection drill...

So we kinda went to our group and I shouted at them for the first time...

and I think they got real shocked...

Both Tammy and i did 40 pumpings for them...

And left kinda disappointed, leaving them to think...

So anyways, after that was inspection drill, and I kinda shouted at my group again...

The inspection drill itself brought back memories to me, cos it was where I first stepped up to help...

And I really agree that the person who designed it is a genius!

But anyways, felt super guilty and did not dare to face my group after shouting at them for so many times. So I kinda did not dare to go to my group during breakfast time, until Tammy had to drag me there...

But anyways, it was inspection drill again after that...

but the nominees did not clear it, they only managed to complete 2 out of 7 stations, and we were quite disappointed, but we are sure they've put in their best.

So anyways, had a very nice talk during the final facilitation with my group (seriously not enough time) and I just wanna say...

GROUP 4 ROCKS!

So anyways, went to macs for lunch to replenish my salt level and went home to zonk for 3 hours and then dinner-ed, then typed this blog post. =)

COUNCIL CAMP 2009 ROCKS! =)
